2003  - Bimhuis en tournee nieuwe theatermakers

Een jazzband: zes mensen spelen twee stukken van Archie Shepp, Damn If I know en New Africa. Klanken worden tastbaar en zichtbaar gemaakt, verder is het stil. ‘Muzikanten’ en instrumenten zijn één. De ‘bas’ stuwt, rolvast, en legt met de ‘drummer’ de basis. ‘Trompet’ en ‘trombone’ blijven dichtbij elkaar. De ‘sax’ soleert over alles heen, de ‘piano’ levert commentaar.

 Een bewegingsconcert in stilte, onderhuids broeiend en vol dissonanten.

2003 - Bimhuis and New Theatre Makers on Tour

 A jazz band: six people performing two pieces by Archie Shepp, Damn If I Know and New Africa. Sounds are made tangible and visible, all else is quiet. ‘Musicians’ and instruments become one. The ‘bass’ is the driving force and provides a solid base, faultlessly, together with the ‘drum’. ‘Trumpet' and 'trombone' follow each other closely. The ‘saxophone’ is a soloist, cutting across all others. The ‘piano’ comments and responds.

A movement concert in silence that smolders below the surface and is full of dissonance.
